Leon Shpaner (publishes academically as Leonid Shpaner) is a Data Scientist at UCLA Health. With over a decade of experience in analytics and teaching, he has collaborated on a wide variety of projects within financial services, education, personal development, and healthcare. He is a lecturer of Probability and Statistics for the University of San Diego’s M.S. Applied Artificial Intelligence program.

Arthur Funnell is a Data Scientist at UCLA Health. He has a portfolio of projects spanning natural language processing, machine learning, and predictive modeling in public and clinical health. His research interests lie in equity, fairness, and model explainability, optimizing large language models and developing toolkits for researchers. Arthur holds a degree in Human-Computer Interaction from the University of Manchester, United Kingdom, combining neuroscience, psychology, and computer science. Prior to UCLA, he worked at AstraZeneca, applying data science in the chemistry and drug discovery space.
